If done right it will show you a 4generation pedigree and tell you how much inbreedig it the calf will have it is a good tool

all I'm getting is the COI for this breeding would be 0.00. what does that mean?

As Warner was trying to point out I believe, it means there is 0.00% inbreeding in the match. Therefore, would be good for beeeding.

Some people will push up to 14% range and somewhere in 15% range you get ugly results.

I believe COI stands for Coefficient of Inbreeding, hence having the result being 0.00% result you described.
